7th Annual CMH Diamond Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway

By Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, MO) — The stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will shine bright at Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday, for the $10,000 to Win, 7th Annual CMH Diamond Nationals! This is the final appearance by the LOLMDS at the Diamond of Dirt tracks in the 2013 race season, as they join the Lucas Oil MLRA for the marquee event. In addition to the hefty pay day, the winner of Saturday’s event will take home the coveted Diamond Nationals ring. Also in action, the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds in a special $750 to win, 25 lap feature courtesy of Hermitage Lumber.

Jimmy Owens, the “Newport” Nightmare has been on an impressive streak in Wheatland, winning the 21st Annual Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 presented by over Memorial Weekend, for the third consecutive year. Owens has also picked up his share of Diamond Nationals victories. It might seem as though he cannot be beat, however, runner-up in last years Diamond Nationals, John Blankenship is just a handful of points behind Owens in the current LOLMDS standings and is itching for a win in Wheatland. Contenders with the Lucas Oil MLRA, should not be overlooked for a chance in Victory Lane on Saturday night. Tony Jackson Jr. trails Terry Phillips by just 11 points in MLRA point standings. Jackson Jr. has been the car to beat throughout the region in the last several weeks, picking up 7 wins in just over a months time, including multiple special event wins. Terry Phillips has made a few visits to Victory Lane at Lucas Oil Speedway and could be one to watch.
