WEEDSPORT, N.Y. — The 2024 Super DIRTcar Series championship season kicks off on March 30 at New Egypt Speedway, with 19 drivers eyeing the 2024 title.

A thrilling season of Big Block Modified racing will travel across the Northeast and Canada with a roster filled with former champions, veterans, and five Rookie of the Year contenders.

Here’s a look at the current 2024 roster:

RETURNERS:

Matt Sheppard/ 10x Series champion/ Waterloo, NY

Defending Super DIRTcar Series champion Matt Sheppard continues to add to his racing legacy after winning his 10th championship in 2023. The Waterloo, NY driver scored five wins, including two of the final three Features of the season at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

The 2024 season could be a year of milestones for Sheppard, who enters the season with 96 Super DIRTcar Series wins. If he wins four races, he’ll become the second driver in Series history to win 100 Features, joining Brett Hearn.

Sheppard comes into the championship season with good momentum, having won six of the nine Modified races contested in 2024 – including two during the Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park.

Mat Williamson/2019 Series champion/ St. Catharines, ON

While he didn’t capture the Series championship last year, Mat Williamson still had a season to remember in 2023. The St. Catharines, ON driver won seven Features, including his third Billy Whittaker Cars 200 during Super DIRT Week at Oswego Speedway.

Williamson hopes to repeat last year’s start with the Super DIRTcar Series that saw him win the first two races of the championship season.  He already has a victory in 2024, winning at Volusia en route to his second consecutive Big Gator trophy.
