Lucas Oil Speedway season kicks off Saturday, headlined by Easter Bowl 150 Enduro

WHEATLAND, Mo. — Lucas Oil Speedway is set to fire up a new season on Saturday night with the third annual Easter Bowl 150 Enduro headlining the action.

The 150-lap lap race is nearly an anything-goes event. Action will be non-stop for the duration, unless a car comes to a stop in the racing groove and is blocking the track or a dangerous situation presents itself and requires a red flag. The winner earns $1,500.

Jeremy Wilson of Humboldt, Kansas, dominated in last year's event, leading 138 of the 150 laps. He finished nearly two laps in front of runner-up Michael Gillis of Clever with Curtis Turpin of Eldon two laps behind the winner in third.

"The Easter Bowl 150 Enduro always is an exciting event and one that the fans enjoy," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said. "We're looking forward to seeing another fun race to help kick off our season, along with three other divisions of cars."

Lorton said the speedway is continuing to accept entries for the Enduro with entry fee $150. Drivers can preregister byc alling into the speedway office at (417) 295-6048 and pay the entry fee via credit card or print off the entry form from the website and drop it off with the fee.

Starting positions for the 150-lap, $1,500-to-win Enduro will be based on order of paid entries received. Drivers will start the race three-wide. Pit passes are $35.

The Easter Bowl 150 winner will earn $1,500 with prize money paid to the top 10 finishers with payouts: 2nd - $1,000; 3rd - $750. 4th - $500. 5th - $300. 6th - $250. 7th - $200. 8th - $175. 9th - $150. 10th - $125.

Also in action will be the Hermitage Lumber POWRi Late Models racing for $1,000 to win, plus POWRi Midwest Mods and POWRi Pure Stock going after $500 to win in their features.

Pit gates will open at 4 p.m. with grandstands at 5 p.m., hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:05.

Driver information needed: Drivers planning on racing at at Lucas Oil Speedway this season are encouraged by keep their MyRacePass profile up to date. Meanwhile, track announcer Shane Friebe is asking for them to also fill out a driver information form online. There will be a number of nights on both Flo Racing and MAV-TV broadcasts and the more information about each driver, the better.

Legends added to April 12th portion of MLRA Spring Nationals: The 11th annual MLRA Spring Nationals are set for April 12-13. Legend cars have been added to the program on the first night to join the MLRA, Show-Me Vintage Racers and POWRi Super Stocks. Classes for night two will be MLRA, SMVR and POWRi Super Stocks.
