Dover Returning as Crew Chief for Tim Estenson plus 20-Plus Race Schedule Behind the Wheel

SPRINGFIELD, Neb. — The 2024 racing season will mirror last year for Jack Dover, who will spend another year as both a crew chief as well as a sprint car driver.

Dover returns as crew chief of Tim Estenson Motorsports a year after the team posted four feature triumphs - the first four of Tim Estenson's career. Additionally, Dover plans to pilot a winged sprint car for approximately 20-to-22 races.

"Just like last year, it's important for me to be able to still race," he said. "Last year I had a little more than two dozen starts and this year the plan is a few less races, but I'll be behind the wheel of my No. 53 for almost all of my races.

"Everything is staying the same with my program. I want to thank my sponsors for continuing to support me. One difference from last year to this year is we've talked about not having nights when both Timmy and I are racing. So for the 20-to-22 races I'll do my focus will be solely on racing that night."

Dover is hopeful to run a handful of races with the ASCS National Tour as well as make some 410ci winged sprint car shows. His season opener is slated for May 18 at Off Road Speedway in Norfolk, Neb., during the 360 Sprints Special with the Gunderson Racing Inc. Midwest Sprint Touring Series.

"Every time I rolled my car out last year we were really strong," he said. "I've learned a lot from helping Timmy and I can relay that back to when I race. Any time we get the car out we'll be stronger than the last time we got it out."

Dover, who won twice last season, enters this year riding a winning streak of 19 consecutive seasons in winged sprint cars.

"I have the confidence we can at least win one or two to keep it going," he said. "I feel confident that even if I haven't raced in a month I can hop in the car and be competitive. We have a good program with great sponsors. I'm looking forward to when I do get the opportunity to race as well as helping Timmy's program."
