It must be August and that is when we locally experience our own version of silly season (crazy stuff starts happening). We start counting down the days until racing is over. High School football, Fantasy Football, College Football, and NFL Football are just around the corner. We are torn by our emotions of a season ending and new season beginning.. . . read more

I just heard through the infamous "They" the Racinboys website and Track Talk radio show are about to be purchased. Rumor has it there could be a couple of local track owners with the resources to expand the show and website. Possibly the resources including adding hair for both hosts since they have expanded into to television.. . . read more

If you are not attending the Chili Bowl or watching the Chili Bowl on pay per view and you want to get a taste of racing during the winter months then plan to attend the January C.A.R.B. Membership Meeting. The meeting will be held at the KCI Marriott Hotel on January 12, 2008 starting at 7:00 P.M.

All NASCAR events and most tracks start with an invocation. Several years back I asked Fast Track Ministries to say a prayer to start the driver's meetings; at Lakeside the pits do not hear the track announcer. What a blessing! A blessing putting everyone in the correct frame of mind. A blessing in providing a quiet time. When the prayer ends I hear more "Amens" come from the drivers than I ever hear at church.
