It's time for C.A.R.B. Hall of Fame!

One of the most enjoyable nights of the year is coming this Saturday when five names will be enshrined into the Central Auto Racing Boosters Hall of Fame. The older I get, the more i appreciate past history and the people who were a major part of it.
This will be the fourth year Scott and I will emcee the event and what an honor it's been to introduce every member. This year's class includes talented racers from a variety of disciplines, two still living.
Ralph Parkinson Sr. won hundreds of races in midgets and sprint cars, but my biggest memory was watching him race against his son Ralph Jr, at Knoxville. Class act.
Howard House was a fan favorite of many throughout his long and illustrious career. He was a true racer and a great guy too.
Eddie Leavitt won back-to-back Knoxville Nationals in the mid 70's for different car owners. Leavitt was a tough competitor, always on top of the wheel. He's been gone four years now, but still at the forefront of my mind every year I go to Knoxville.
Carl Williams raced six times in the Indianapolis 500 after a very successful stint in midgets and sprints, but died much too young at the age of 40 following a tragic motorcycle accident.
Maston Gregory was Kansas City's link to Formula One. Gregory earned a podium finish in his very first Grand Prix start and also has a 24 Hour of Le Mans victory to his credit. Gregory passed away in 1985.
The dinner and induction ceremony will be held once again at Finnigan's Hall in North Kansas City. Go to kccarb.com for more information. What's also great about this event is seeing all the Hall of Famers from previous years and having a good time talking about the "good old days" of racing. Hope to see you there.
