Chalk one up for Junior

Boy, was I fooled. I had said for months there's no way Teresa Earnhardt would let her star driver get away, that a deal would have to get done. After all, it's business, and when it comes to NASCAR, Dale Jr. is BIG business. How could these two not agree to a contract extension? Seemed like a no-brainer to me. Teresa would give a little in power in order to walk away with millions.
One thing I didn't consider is a family feud circumvents everything, including money. It's no secret Junior has not liked his step-mother since an early age, therefore logic goes right out the window. This negotiaton turned in to a battle of wills, and Junior blinked first.
Now what? Junior gets to choose where he ends up while Teresa is left hoping she can convince a good driver to fill his old seat. I think I'd rather be in Junior's shoes.
Career-wise, this is really the best for Dale Earnhardt Jr. His chances of a winning a championship were slim at DEI. Hendrick, Gibbs, and Childress provide far more resources and depth.
It will be interesting to see what Teresa does now, but not nearly as fascinating as what Junior decides to do. In the battle of wills, this fight was no contest.
