I Believe

Posted by John Green at 11:12:06 PM

Some of the most god fearing people in this country are racers and race fans.  All NASCAR events and most tracks start with an invocation.  Several years back I asked Fast Track Ministries to say a prayer to start the driver's meetings; at Lakeside the pits do not hear the track announcer.  What a blessing!  A blessing putting everyone in the correct frame of mind.  A blessing in providing a quiet time. When the prayer ends I hear more "Amens" come from the drivers than I ever hear at church.  Those blessings are many of the reasons that I believe.

I believe that America was founded on Christian principles.  I believe the United States of America grew into a super power because we believed.

I believe the "One Nation Under God" is and should always be in the Pledge of Allegiance.  I believe that "In God We Trust" should always be printed or stamped on our money.  I believe that those who disagree with the above statements should be tolerant of the majority.  I believe our government needs to listen to the silent majority rather than the noisy minority.

I believe that race fans and racers are one of the last groups that will not cater to the noisy minority.  I believe that racers are leaders.  I believe that because racers are leaders in their community, in their country, in their sport , that is why we all do not always agree.  I believe it is healthy that we don't always agree.  I believe we learn from others, from their complaints, from their suggestions, from their ideas.

I believe some of the top talent in the world has or is racing in the Kansas City area.  I believe that the Kansas City area has some of the best owners/promoters in the country.  I believe that we have some of the best media people in the nation.  I believe this all has occurred because we are a god fearing, god loving racing community.  That leads me back to the start, to the start of this blog, and to the start of it all.

I believe this is the season to celebrate the birth of the baby Jesus.  I believe in Merry Christmas, not any of those other sayings that the noisy minority want us to change.  With that I believe it is time to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
