Introducing R.A.M.S.( Regional A Modified Series)

Posted by Jason Bodenhamer at 04:03:54 PM

I am proud to announce the R.A.M.S (Regional A Modified Series) for the 2009 race season. The new series for the surrounding A modifieds that will guarantee a very strong point fund with several specials and numerous awards and monies from many racing supporters!  Why not have a point system and an organized way of finding out the best of the best modified drivers in the midwest ?

To start, this is a mere introduction about the series to clear up any questions or confusion for anyone.  This is not a traveling series, but a combined effort from the area track promoters, racers, sponsors, fans, and myself to bring added money to local and surrounding A modified racers.

If you happen to be familiar with ULMA's platform of counting the best 15 finishes from any of the ULMA sanctioned tracks towards a year end champion, you shall understand this plan clearly.  The finishes from local tracks that plan to be sanctioned by R.A.M.S. will be weekly tallied. A set number of shows (yet to be decide) will be counted. Right now we are taking into consideration racers input about the number ( maybe 20-25) of your best finishes at any of the participating race venues.

I would like to see 5-6 tracks involved including, Central Missouri Speedway, Lakeside Speedway, Lucas Oil Speedway, LA Raceway, Valley Speedway or whoever wants to be a part of this exciting plan.  This will in no way hurt weekly car counts, if anything it should help all involved. If one track is rained out, a racer chasing the point championship and money will travel to the next venue after a top finish towards his point total.

I want this to work for everyone involved and hope for the support  and help from anyone willing.  Nothing is set in stone about anything and we are open to all suggestions and comments. I wanted to get started on this early for next year to track down sponsors and set a schedule for some outside specials that will apply to the set number of best finishes.

Soon, we will have confirmed plans to present to all speedways interested along with a guaranteed purse payout.  This format will show who is the best of the best in the ever competitive A Modified class.

If you would like to jump on board as a title, associate, or contingency sponsor call me at my shop during normal business hours at Bodee' Motorsports 816-230-8322 or anytime on my cell phone 816-522-8343.  Watch for many new announcements about the upcoming R.A.M.S here on racinboys!

Would be good for the local modifieds to have a little something more to run for throughout the year. One thing to think about is that number of shows and keeping it reasonable. With things the way that they are right now I'd hate to see someone lose out because they can't afford to run at multiple tracks. Not blasting the idea because I think it could work if you get the tracks and drivers on board.

Jason, we need to talk. Give me a call sometime.
