C.A.R.B. BANQUET NEWS and Meeting News

Posted by John Green at 12:25:17 AM

We have seen numerous emails and received numerous telephone calls concerning the Central Auto Racing Boosters banquet.  Hopefully this will clear up some of those issues.

For those new to the Central Auto Racing Boosters, each year we hold a season ending banquet.  C.A.R.B. honors the Champion Drivers, Owners and Mechanics from Lakeside , I-70 asphalt, I-70 Dirt, Valley Speedway, Central Missouri Speedway, and I-35 Speedway.

C.A.R.B. also provides awards for Rookies and Most Improved Drivers.

If you are one of the recipients of these awards you must attend a C.A.R.B. function to receive your trophies.  The most obvious place is the banquet.  Receive your awards in front of hundreds of others in the racing community.

Lakeside Speedway, Central Missouri Speedway, Valley Speedway, I-35 Speedway, and I-70 dirt and asphalt  have confirmed they will be presenting their awards at the Banquet.

The 56th Annual Central Auto Racing Boosters Banquet will occur on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the KCI Expo.

Doors will open at 4:00 P.M., dinner will begin, at , the Award Ceremonies will start at and dancing and music is scheduled immediately after the completion of the awards.

Tickets are $35 each and may be purchased by contacting the following ticket sellers:

Tickets will be on sale from August 1 through November 1.  Tickets are not sold after November 1; we must provide a head count to the KCI Expo so they can prepare the proper amount of food and order the proper amount of tables and chairs.

Champions please contact Bob Reber by October 1, 2008 at 816-358-4299 to finalize your awards.

SEATING:  Please ensure when you purchase your tickets you inform the seller who you request to sit nearby.  Due to the size of this event, all seats at this banquet are reserved. Seating requests will be accepted through November 1, 2008. We will try to accommodate all seating requests but cannot guarantee you will be exactly next to the person or group of your choice.

Also if you still have questions, plan to be a part of the first General Membership Meeting of the 2008-2009 non racing season on October 11, 2008.  Since three C.A.R.B. supported tracks are still racing the meeting will start at   The meeting will be held at the Moose Lodge 510 N Sterling Avenue, Sugar Creek, MO.

The October meeting is always a fun time.  We will have a short written recap of the summer events.

We will open the floor for nominations for the Special Awards to be presented at the season ending banquet.  Voting for these awards occurs at the November General Membership Meeting to be held at on November 8, 2008 at Finnigan’s Hall in North Kansas City .

We will also choose an election committee which will have the responsibility to nominate members for the 2009 Officers and Board of Directors.

So put this meeting on your calendar, review the special awards, and come nominate those deserving, and plan to be a part of your organization, the Central Auto Racing Boosters.  Further information is available at www.kccarb.com, click on the Board or Officers and call someone if you would like to speak with a person.
