WDRL shuts down operations(Gilman City, MO) The WORLD Dirt Racing League (WDRL) is sorry to announce that its Late Model touring series is discontinuing business operations, effective at once. Series president Jim Wilson made the announcement on Friday.

Chad Simpson celebrates second WDRL title(Gilman City, MO) Chad Simpson of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, is the 2009 WORLD Dirt Racing League points champion. This is Simpson's second championship in two seasons.

Simpson scores at Mineral City(Fort Dodge, IA) Round no. 9 of the WORLD Dirt Racing League's 2009 schedule brought the Late Model dirt track touring series' stars and cars here Monday for the first time to Mineral City Speedway, a half-mile race track nestled deep inside a rock quarry just outside town. Just about every Late Model driver in the field took his first laps on the speedway as most had never set eyes on it before.
