Owens wins 41st World 100(Rossburg, OH) Jimmy Owens was in a league of his own for most of Saturday night’s 41st annual World 100 at Eldora Speedway. The final 10 laps, however, were a dogfight for the 39-year-old from Newport, Tenn., who had to turn back challenges from Darrell Lanigan, Don O’Neal and Eddie Carrier Jr. to secure his second career victory in the prestigious DIRTcar UMP-sanctioned event. Bloomquist sets quick time at World 100(Rossburg, OH) Scott Bloomquist posted the quickest time of the 107 entered during the opening night of the 41st Annual World 100 weekend at Eldora Speedway. Bloomquist, three-time winner of dirt late model's most prestigious event, turned the high-banked half-mile in 15.009 seconds as Don O'Neal, who is still looking for his first World 100 win, came in second in time trials at 15.167. Jimmy Owens, Josh Richards, and Shannon Babb rounded out the top-five.
41st World 100 this weekend(Rossburg, OH) Over 75 race haulers are already staged and ready to enter the pit area for this weekend’s 41st annual running of the World 100, but will have to wait one more day to enter the Eldora Speedway pit area, due to soggy grounds and a continuing mist. With that move comes a slight juggling of the schedule for the weekend.
