Bobby Layne honored at 2011 Midwest Lightning Sprint champ(Blue Springs, MO) Long-time Kansas City veteran racer Bobby Layne was honored last Saturday night for his first-ever Liquid & Powdercoat Finishes Midwest Lightning Sprint Car Championship. 2010 champion Matt Gilbert collected second place hardware, while Zach Morehead, Richard Layne, and Tony Layne were also presented top-five awards at the annual banquet held at the Lake Lotawana Community Club. M K Billings tops Midwest Lightning Sprints at Weld Family Memorial(Grain Valley, MO) The Liquid and Powdercoat Finishes of KC Midwest Lightning Sprints shared the Weld Memorial stage with the Non Wing Valley Sprints, the Midwest Mod Lites and the Mighty Micros.
Ken Billings outruns Layne in Midwest Lightning Sprints at CMS(Warrensburg, MO) The Liquid and Powdercoat Finishes of KC Midwest Lightning Sprints ended their 2 race Labor Day weekend with Central Missouri Speedway. Because of a rainout of the features at CMS the nite before, the program started with the Sat nite features and 1 qualifier for the A Mods. Because of all the racing, the track became very dry slick. The Lightning Sprints put on a great show, with only 1 caution for the entire running of our races.
Layne wins Midwest Lightning Sprints John Heffernon Memorial(Grain Valley, MO) The Liquid and Powdercoat Finishes of KC Midwest Lightning Sprints started their 2 race Labor Day weekend with Valley Speedway. This was the John B Heffernon Memorial race. John passed away on Nov 7, 2008 from injuries suffered in a one car accident at Heartland Park Topeka Raceway.
Morehead gets first ever Midwest Lightning Sprint win; series at I-35 tonight(Olathe, KS) Zach Morehead scored his first-ever Midwest Lightning Sprint Car win Friday night at Valley Speedway. Morehead fended off Bobby Layne in route to the victory after the two made contact early in the run. Layne subsequently fell out which left the door open for Matt Gilbert and Ken Billings to secure top-three finishes.
Bobby Layne tops Midwest Lightning Sprints at Heartland Park Topeka(Topeka, KS) Bobby Layne returned to the Midwest Lightning Sprint Car Series winner's circle Saturday night at Heartland Park Topeka. Dusty Murray was second and Ken Billings third.
Australian D J Raw at CMS this weekend(Warrensburg, MO) Australian Lightning Sprint driver DJ Raw will take on the best Lightning Sprint drivers in Missouri at Central Missouri Speedway on Sunday July 2nd. The 28 year old is excited to be the first ever Australian to race Lightning Sprints in the USA and will fly into Missouri full of confidence after recently being crowned the 2011 Sydney Speedway Track Champion. Raw will race the Z8 Lightning Sprint owned by Zach Morehead during the $5,000 to win Modified race night.

Devore tops Midwest Lightning Sprint Car opener(LaMonte, MO) Jim Devore earned top honors at the season-opening Midwest Lightning Sprint Car event Saturday night at L A Raceway. Mark Billings finished second and Bobby Layne ended up third.
Dorsett leads USOMA Nats qualifying at Valley; Klem tops 600cc(Grain Valley, MO) Dan Doresett was Friday's top points earner and among the top-eight locked in for Saturday night's main event at the 10th USOMA 1200 Dirt Nationals at Valley Speedway. Phil Heavelow tops MOLS at Nevada Speedway(Nevada, MO) This was our first and only visit of this year to Nevada. Shawn and Tracey Hendren have done a tremendous job with the facility and the races. The track was super smooth and it stayed racey enduring seven classes of cars.
