Midgets hit U.S. 36 high banks(Osborn, MO) U.S. 36 Raceway will be the site of a huge midget car event this Sunday evening, July 26. It's "Hotter than Hell," featuring the O'Reilly POWRi Midget Series and USAC/SMRS Great Plains Midget Series. A star-studded field of drivers is set to tackle the on-high-banked one-third mile oval. Driving the Sherrell Paint & Body/Kaisen Aluminum Wheels Bullet/Esslinger Ford, Sherrell beat Jonathan Beason, Brad Loyet, Frank Flud and Eric Sandage to the checkered flag. Sherrell is now atop the series point standings.

Thursday services set for Chad McDaniel(Concordia, KS) Services for race driver Chad McDaniel, who succumbed to injuries incurred in Friday night’s USAC/SMRS Midget race at Knoxville, Iowa, are scheduled Thursday morning (June 4) at 10 am at the Brown-Grand Theater at 310 W. 6th Street in Concordia, Kansas. The visitation will be Wednesday evening (June 3) from 6-8 pm at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home at 325 W. 6th Street in Concordia.
