Johnson to steer Smith-Morton 16s in 2010(Kansas City, MO) The 2009 MLRA Rookie of the Year, Matt Johnson, will be behind the wheel of the Smith-Morton Racing #16s Modified for the 2010 season. Johnson will be competing for a track championship at Lakeside Speedway. The team will also run at other area tracks as their schedule allows. “We’re ecstatic about having Matt drive for us in 2010. World of Outlaws Sprint Cars return to Lakeside in 2010(Kansas City, KS) After a 7 year hiatus, the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series will return to Lakeside Speedway, Saturday, June 26th, 2010. More information will made available in the upcoming weeks.
Border War expands to Stock Cars at Lakeside and I-35(Kansas City, MO) I-35 and Lakeside Speedways worked together in 2009 to create the Border War in the Grand National class with an extra incentive of winning at one track followed by a win at the other track leading to a bonus. 2010 Lakeside Speedway schedule released(Kansas City, KS) Lakeside Speedway owner Marc Olson released the 2010 schedule on Wednesday, and the biggest news is the return of the McCarthy Auto Group Jayhawk Modified Classic in September. All of the other special events that were staged in 2009 will return next season, plus a $1000-to=win Grand National race.
Bad weather postpones Lakeside October Series until October 17(Kansas City, KS) The opening night of the Capitol Federal “Fastival of Speed’ scheduled for this Saturday, October 10th at Lakeside Speedway has been canceled because of weather conditions. The series will resume, Saturday, October 17th. Gates open at 4, first race at 6:30.
