Lakeside Speedway to allow roofs with no spoiler in B-Mod class(Kansas City, KS) Lakeside Speedway is amending the Convertible Sport B Mods to allow roofs on the racecars. The Convertible Sport B Mods will drop the convertible name and will allow roofs but not spoilers on racecars with roofs.
Lakeside Speedway releases 2012 schedule(Kansas City, KS) Lakeside Speedway suffered a harsh lesson at the hands of the Missouri River. The season started off good and 7 races into the season it took a turn for the worse. The Missouri River broke out of it's banks and flooded the 1/2 mile race track located in Kansas City, KS. The rest of the 2011 race season was lost.
Second Clean Up Day this Saturday at Lakeside(Kansas City, KS) The second and final clean up day for Lakeside Speedway will be this Saturday, October 22nd. Clean up time is 10:00am to 2:00pm. Plans for Lakeside Speedway reopen in 2012 continue(Kansas City, KS) Plans for reopening Lakeside Speedway next Spring are continuing. Track owner and General Manager Marc Olson says the 2012 schedule is being finalized and should be released by early next week. Meanwhile, a second clean-up day has been set for this Saturday, weather permitting.
Volunteers needed on Clean Lakeside Speedway Weekend Sept. 23-24 (Kansas City, KS) On June 30 the waters came wiping out the remainder of the Lakeside Speedway season. The waters have been slow to recede, but recede they have, enough to begin the task of cleaning up the Speedway.

Continued flooding forces Lakeside to cancel all event in August(Kansas City, KS) All racing activity for the month of August has been canceled at Lakeside Speedway because of continued high water in and around the track.
July 1 racing cancelled after flood waters reach Lakeside Speedway(Kansas City, KS) Lakeside Speedway officials have had to unfortunately cancel the weekly racing program scheduled for Friday, July 1 due to a levee that was topped by waters from the nearby Missouri River. First reports starting coming in after 5:00 p.m. on Thursday that waters were spilling into the field between the river and track.

A week after being warned for possible flooding, that never happened, Lakeside Speedway finally got on the same page with Mother Nature. Lakeside Speedway back in business tonight(Kansas City, KS) It's amazing what some people have to go through. It's bad enough that Lakeside Speedway has been rained out 4 times in 2011, but last week the Wyandotte County Emergency Management told Lakeside Speedway owner, Marc Olson, that by Tuesday of this past week that it was likely that the fast 1/2 mile would be under water. What a blow!
Lakeside Speedway plans to resume racing this Friday(Kansas City, KS) Lakeside Speedway will re-open this Friday, June 24th. Gates open at 5, hot laps at 7:00 and racing at 7:30. Track owner Marc Olsen told Racinboys.com flood waters have not yet affected the speedway property and has decided to resume the weekly schedule until or if the flood occurs.
