SCCA Runoffs leaving HPT after 2008(Topeka, KS) Sports Car Club of America, Inc. announced the results of a vote by its Board of Directors that will move the National Championship Runoffs® to Road America (Elkhart Lake, Wis.) in 2009. Heartland Park Topeka Dirt Track opens April 20(Topeka, KS) It’s time to get down and dirty at Heartland Park Topeka! The season opener of the Waste Management Think Green Dirt Track Series premieres on April 20, 2008. There will be four classes hitting the track this year: Modified, Factory Stocks, Hobby Stocks, and B-Mods, a class completely new to HPT.

The season opener for the dragstrip will be on Friday, April 4th with a Fun & Grudge/TNT race. Anyone can bring out their street legal vehicle and take it down the world famous quarter-mile for only $20. Spectators can watch the fun for only $10. Gates will open for this event at 5:00 p.m.
O'Reilly extends NHRA sponsorship at Heartland Park Topeka(Glendora, CA) NHRA has announced that O’Reilly Auto Parts has agreed to a multiyear extension to be the title-rights sponsor of the O’Reilly NHRA Summer Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka through 2010. O’Reilly Auto Parts has maintained the title-rights sponsorship of the event since 2002.
Flat track motorcycles return to HPT(Topeka, KS) The Thunder of the big twins from American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) and Grand National Championship (GNC) Flat Track Racing Series returns to the Kansas heartland for the first time since 2000. Heartland Park Topeka will host two of the premier dirt series events scheduled for Friday, July 4th and the Season Finale, Saturday, October 4th, 2008.

Colvin named NHRA 'King of the Track'(Topeka, KS) Mike Colvin (Kansas City, Mo.) proved he was the king of Heartland Park Topeka when he was crowned NHRA King of the Track Oct. 20. NHRA King of the Track is a special onetime event in conjunction with the weekly Bumper to Bumper Bracket Series at Heartland Park. Tracks supporting the NHRA are eligible for the event, which sets up winners of a qualifying race to compete head to head to become King of the Track.
Junior Dragsters complete '07 final round at HPT(Topeka, KS) Brianne Christensen, Austin McClure and Matthew Winkler were quickest to the line Oct. 19, when Heartland Park hosted the final round of the Jr. Drag Series at Heartland Park Topeka.

Heartland Park Topeka names new Sales and Marketing Director(Topeka, KS) Chris M. Martin, has been named the Director of Sales and Marketing for Heartland Park Topeka by owner Raymond Irwin. Chris comes to Heartland Park Topeka with an extensive background in Sales and New Business Development and is the current owner of Grocery Supply, Inc. Prior to purchasing Grocery Supply, Inc. Martin held positions at the Topeka Capital-Journal, including Retail Sales Manager and Director of New Business Development.
