(Mayetta, KS) Officials at Thunder Hill Speedway have announced the track, under new ownership, will operate under I.M.C.A. sanction for the 2010 season. Modifieds, Stock Cars, Sport Mods, and Hobby Stocks will be in competition on Saturday nights.

Thunderhill Speedway closes doors on 2009 season
(Mayetta, KS) Thunderhill Speedway has pulled the plug on the rest of the 2009 season, according to the track's website. No official explanation was given as to the reason for the closure. Financial issues have resulted in uncertainties about the future of the track dating back to late last year, and recent weeks have seen car counts dwindling, especially in the A-Modified class where just one car was entered on August 1.

All Stars pull plug on Thunderhill, will race two nights at Belleville
(Belleville, KS) The O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions announced today that there has been a scheduling adjustment to their Thunder through the Plains schedule which features five races in five days. Due to business obligations Thunder Hill Speedway has been removed from the schedule setting up a two night double header at the Belleville High Banks, on tonight July 30th and tomorrow night July 31st.

All Star 'Thunder through the Plains' opens tonight at U.S. 36 Raceway
(Camargo, IL) “Go West, young man,” is a quote that has been popular since it was first published in the 1800s. This week the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions will be following that advice as they prepare for the customary “Thunder through the Plains” portion of their schedule. Beginning on Wednesday, July 29th the series will be starting their five race streak west of the Mississippi at U.S. 36 Raceway in Osborn Missouri, before rumbling through both Kansas and South Dakota.

(Topeka, KS) Arrangements are set for Steven Bowers Sr, who died Saturday night as a result of a racing accident at Thunderhill Speedway. Steve will lie in state after 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where the Nate Morales Council #1177 of the Knights of Columbus rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. followed by a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the church.
