Thunderhill Speedway closes doors on 2009 season(Mayetta, KS) Thunderhill Speedway has pulled the plug on the rest of the 2009 season, according to the track's website. No official explanation was given as to the reason for the closure. Financial issues have resulted in uncertainties about the future of the track dating back to late last year, and recent weeks have seen car counts dwindling, especially in the A-Modified class where just one car was entered on August 1.
No competition for Kampsen at Thunderhill Speedway(Mayetta, KS) John Kampsen was the only Modified driver who showed up at Thunderhill Speedway on Saturday night. Kyle Olberding won the B- Main main as Brian Labonte in Factory Stock and Gary Kern Jr. in Hobby Stock were also victorious.
All Stars pull plug on Thunderhill, will race two nights at Belleville(Belleville, KS) The O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions announced today that there has been a scheduling adjustment to their Thunder through the Plains schedule which features five races in five days. Due to business obligations Thunder Hill Speedway has been removed from the schedule setting up a two night double header at the Belleville High Banks, on tonight July 30th and tomorrow night July 31st.

Steve will lie in state after 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where the Nate Morales Council #1177 of the Knights of Columbus rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. followed by a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Thunderhill accident claims Steven Bowers Sr.(Mayetta, KS) Steven Bowers Sr., 49, was fatally injured when his car was involved in a multi-car crash in front of the main grandstand during the B-Modified feature Saturday night at Thunderhill Speedway. Thunderhill Speedway offers higher payout on Fourth of July(Mayetta, KS) Saturday night, the fourth of July, will be a huge blow out for both fans and drivers. For the drivers, the winners in the Modifieds, factory stock and hobby stock, will receive an extra $400 to win. The winners purse for A modified will be $850, B modifieds $700, factory stock $625 and hobby stock $525.
Bowers returns to Thunderhill Speedway winner's circle(Mayetta, KS) Steven Bowers Jr. returned to Modified victory circle Saturday night at Thunderhill Speedway. Bowers finished ahead of Jeff Herbers as Joey Selbach was third. Other winners were Rick Dreasher in B-Mods, Tony Noll Jr. in Factory Stocks, and Tony Baumgartner in Hobby Stocks.
Becker triumphs at Thunderhill Speedway(Mayetta, KS) Justin Becker captured the Modified main event at Thunderhill Speedway on Saturday night. Damon Fuqua was second and Nick Newton third. Jeff Herbers and Travis Patch rounded out the top-five.
