Blown Nitro and Alcohol Funny Car are featured along with JR Fuel and Fuel Cars, Custom Rods. A Giant Car Show is also part of the huge weekend. Gates open at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, 9:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
KCIR under new ownership(Kansas City, MO) The future of area drag racing is shifting into a higher gear as new track owners take the wheel. Jabez Territories, LLC, has purchased Kansas City International Raceway (KCIR) in an effort to improve the venue’s appeal to the community.
Grudge racing begins Sunday at KCIR(Kansas City, MO) Weather permitting Sunday Grudge Racing will begin March 2nd at Kansas City International Raceway, and continue thru the end of the month. Gates will open at 11:30, and time trials will be from Noon till 4:00. Admission will be $10.00 to Spectate and $20.00 to Race....Temperature must be 40 deg. and Sunny to run!!!

PINKS coming to Kansas City International Raceway(Kansas City, MO) PINKS, the popular drag racing reality show is coming to Kansas City International Raceway. The news was announced Tuesday evening on the debut of Russ Dickey's new show "Shifting Gears" on RacinBoys.com. KCIR co-owner Jeff Martin, an in-studio guest on the show, said the SPEED TV crew will be at the track August 10-11 with airing to be announced. Three episodes will be taped each night.
Barklage breaks KCIR records(Kansas City, MO) Zach Barklage of Lake Ozark, Mo blistered the Kansas City International Raceway quarter-mile Friday night, breaking both ET and speed track records in Pro Mod qualifying of the Annual Fastest Doorslammers.
Final eliminations which include bracket cars will wind up on Saturday.

Paola is overall winner of KCIR High School Drags(Kansas City, MO) Paola High School was the overall winner of the Spring High School Drags, presented by Advance Auto Parts and Scion, Sunday at Kansas City International Raceway. Marshall captured the School Spirit award. Individual wiiners included Jeff Leeper, Michelle Brewer, Josh Clegg, Richard Pilcher, and Spike Bolte.
