Hess makes Valley charge(Grain Valley, MO) Mike Hess charged from the sixth row and took advantage of Brett Anderson's broken U-joint to win the O'Reilly POWRi Midget Series feature event Friday night at Valley Speedway. Anderson had led from the early laps before his car slowed on lap 18 of the 30-lap race.

Valley opener delayed to May 16(Grain Valley, MO) Rain and wet weather has once again forced Valley Speedway officials to call off the 2008 season opener. Weekly Friday night racing will now begin on Friday, May 16.
Valley Speedway season opener postponed until May 9(Grain Valley, MO) Valley Speedway's season open has been delayed yet another week. Heavy overnight rains on Thursday forced track officials to cancel the May 2 program. They'll try again on Friday, May 9.
Kline spreads cancer message 17 ways(Kearney, MO) Kearney, Missouri driver Ed "Bubba" Kline is ready to roll out his newly finished B-Modified for the 2008 season. This year, Kline not only has defending his B-Modified track championship at Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Missouri as a reason for competing, but also has an additional 17 reasons to inspire him towards his bid for another track championship. Valley Speedway Test & Tune postponed(Grain Valley, MO) The Test and Tune scheduled for Saturday at Valley Speedway is postponed. The fire safety seminar will be held as planned. There will be another Test and Tune on April 19th from 1:00PM - 5PM.
New future at Valley Speedway(Grain Valley, MO) New Valley Speedway owner Dennis Shrout says there will be no immediate changes to the weekly Friday night racing program, which kicks off April 25. Shrout, who completed the purchase this past week from Mark and Debbie Evinger, does have plans for additional events such as Monster Truck Shows and Truck and Tractor Pulls. Midwest 5 Champions crowned(Cameron, MO) The first season of the Midwest 5 Points Championships presented by Yancy’s Automotive and A to Z Billboards.com is complete. US 36 Raceway in Osborn, Winston Speedway in Winston, I-70 Speedway in Odessa, Valley Speedway in Grain Valley and Central Missouri Speedway in Warrensburg made up the Midwest 5 this year. Also 5 classes competed, the Compact, Limited Modified, Stock, Late Model and Modified.
Valley Speedway drivers honored for 2007(Odessa, MO) Valley Speedway held its annual banquet Friday night at the Odessa Community Center, and drivers of the four classes were honored with trophies and other awards. Steve Clancy was presented with the Valley Late Model crown, while Jake Richards in Modifieds, Chad Eickleberry in Street Stocks, and Bubba Kline in B-Mods were other season champions. Lueckert bags SMRS season finale at Valley Speedway(Grain Valley, MO) Greg Lueckert held off Jonathan Beason to win the SMRS season finale Saturday night at Valley Speedway. Starting third, Lueckert took advantage of pole sitter Matt Sherrill's mishap at the start of the race, then passed Beason on the outside as they charged down the backstretch with just a handful of laps remaining. Open wheel Saturday at Valley Speedway(Grain Valley, MS) Valley Speedway will wrap up the 2007 racing season this Saturday night with an open wheel special event. The 3rd Annual Fall Shootout will feature SMRS Midgets with 305 Sprints and Midwest Outlaw Lightning Sprints also part of the program.
Brown secures hometown victory(Grain Valley, MO) Racing in his hometown for the first time in a couple of seasons, Brian Brown won the O’Reilly Auto Parts Winged Outlaw Warriors feature at Valley Speedway Saturday night.
Jay Russell led the first lap from his front row outside starting position. On lap two, Brown moved by Russell from his second row starting spot and would steadily increase his lead to about a straightaway when the races only yellow came out for fifth place Terry Hinck, who rolled to a stop in turn two on lap five. Hinck would not be able to continue.
