Cook wins Dixie Shootout(Woodstock, GA) Taking the lead on lap 23 after starting seventh, Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC led the rest of the way to score his first career Dixie Shootout win on Saturday Night at Dixie Speedway. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event win for Cook was his fifth this year as he collected $10,000 for the win in the 20th Annual Dixie Shootout, which was sponsored by Coal America’s Energy. Talladega Short Track Nationals postponed by rain(Talladega, AL) Officials of Talladega Short Track and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series have postponed the Talladega Short Track Nationals due to rain. At 4:50pm (Central Time), officials made the decision to postpone the event until Saturday, November 14th; heavy rains have battered the region for weeks and began to fall around 4:00pm, with more showers expected later in the evening.

Wet weather forces Lucas Oil Late Models to Sunday(Brownstown, IN) Rain began to fall during the waning laps of heat race number one, and just after the checkered flags fell on heat 1, the downpour began to grow in strength, temporarily postponing the remainder of the heats. After an hour and a half of rain continuing to batter the already drenched fairgrounds, officials of Brownstown Speedway and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series have come together to make the decision to postpone the event until Sunday afternoon at 3:00PM.

Cook wins Hillbilly 100(Middlebourne, WV) Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC scored the biggest win of his racing career on Monday afternoon at Tyler County Speedway as he captured the 41st Annual Hillbilly Hundred sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Cook won $41,000 after winning his fourth series race of 2009 in a race that was postponed on Sunday Night after 39 laps were run because of rain.
