URSS enters fifth season with familiar stops(Oberlin, KS) The United Rebel Sprint Series goes into its fifth season with the Rebels returning to several tracks and adding multiple new tracks for 2010. Racers will be competing for two Regional Championships this year as well as the coveted National Championship crown.
Johnson honored as 2009 URSS champ(Oberlin, KS) The United Rebel Sprint Series capped off an amazing Racing Season as racers from four states converged at the Annual URSS Awards Banquet held this year in Wakeeney Kansas. Martin tops URSS at Wakeeney(Wakeeney, KS) The United Rebel Sprint Series rolled into the Wakeeney Speedway as part of the George “Pappy” Parsons Fall Nationals twenty-eight teams strong. Johnson extends URSS points lead(Oberlin, KS) The United Rebel Sprint Series made its way to the Decatur County Speedway in Oberlin, Kansas Saturday night for the Rebels final appearance on the 2009 Season. Nineteen teams made the pull to the 3/8’s mile oval to do battle and gain precious points as the year winds to a close. When the checkers flew it was Quinter Kansas’s C J Johnson taking a hard fought victory and solidifying his points lead.
Salem rolls to URSS victory in Colorado(Holyoke, CO) The United Rebel Sprint Series made its only appearance at the newly revamped Phillips County Speedway Saturday night. The reconfigured 3/8’s mile oval provided the fans in the stands a great show as the Rebels flew around the tight turns keeping them on the edge of their seats all night long. Johnson scores URSS prize in Colorado(Byers, CO) CJ Johnson nabbed his fifteenth victory of the year by topping the field of Sunday’s main event at Byers, Colorado in the United Rebel Sprint Series debut at the Colorado Motorsports Park. Johnson wrestled the lead away from Reed Bernbeck during the waning moments of the twenty-lap showdown, notching his twenty-ninth career URSS Feature win.
Johnson topples URSS field at Norton(Norton, KS) The United Rebel Sprint Series made its final appearance at the Elmwood Park Speedway Sunday night as twenty-eight teams made the trip. Once again Mother Nature gave he fans a perfect evening to watch the winged warriors slice and dice their way around the historic half-mile oval.
Bourke scores at Diamond Mountain (Vernal, UT) The United Rebel Sprint Series made their final appearance at the Diamond Mountain Speedway in Vernal Utah Saturday evening with eight teams making the trip. The action was fast and furious on the ¼ mile bull ring with the Rebel Sprints setting a new track record. When the checkered flag fell it was Gypsum Colorado’s Patrick Bourke taking the win.
C J Johnson tames Hutchinson Raceway Park(Hutchinson, KS) The United Rebel Sprint Series made its final appearance Friday night at Hutchinson Raceway Park for the 2009 Season with seventeen teams making the pull through the gate. Racers were greeting with gusty winds and the temperature over the century mark, the Staff at HRP gave the racers a fast track despite Mother Nature’s best efforts to spoil the evenings racing.
Seemann makes late race pass in URSS win at Rush County(LaCrosse, KS) The United Rebel Sprint Series rolled into the Rush County Speedway Saturday night to close out the 2009 Rush County Fair in style. The standing room only crowd was treated to a 25 lap, caution free Feature that kept the fans on their feet until the checkered flag fell.
Valesquez bags URSS win at Wakeeney(Wakeeney, KS) The United Rebel Sprint Series made its final appearance at the Wakeeney Speedway as part of the 99th Annual Trego County Fair. Mother Nature and a broken water line once again tried their best to bring the night to a halt, but they couldn’t put a damper on the evenings racing as twenty-six teams made the trip to the 3/8’s mile oval.
Johnson nurses ailing ride to URSS win(Norton, KS) The United Rebel Sprint Series finished off the Norton County Fair Sunday night as twenty-one teams made it the historic half-mile to do battle. Fans saw some great racing with a few new names up at the front and some old fashion white knuckled rim riding along the cushion. It was Quinter native C.J.
