Fultz victorious at Caraway as Blaney claims CRA Southern title(Sophia, NC) Jeff Fultz passed Ryan Blaney and Ross Kenseth when they washed up the track while battling for the lead late in the North South Shootout 100. Fultz went on to win Blaney finished second, Kenseth third.
Jurkovic holds off Griffin and Elliott at Winchester(Winchester, IN) With five laps to go Derrick Griffin and Chase Elliott were battling for the lead of the 40th Annual Winchester 400. Griffin lead, Elliott could pull down beside him but could not pass, then a spin on the backstretch brought out a caution, Griffin did not want. Elliott pitted for fresh tires, putting Boris Jurkovic in second.
VanHaitsma tops CRA Super Series at Berlin(Marne, MI) A broken hub during practice kept Terry VanHaitsma from qualifying and forced him to start on the tail of the Keyser's Port City Racing 125 at Berlin Raceway. While Johnny VanDoorn and Peter Cozzolino traded the lead for the first half of the race, VanHaitsma worked his way from the 26th starting position to get to the front and the eventual victory of Saturday night's CRA Super Series event. Ruston becomes first woman winner in CRA Super Series(Clermont, IN) Boris Jurkovic lead over 60 laps of the CRA Super Series Seal Wrap Repair Tape 100 presented by McGunegill Engine Performance only to run out of gas with three laps to go. Kenzie Ruston had been dogging Jurkovic for many laps, never quite able to get to his bumper, but took over the lead and took the checkered flag at Lucas Oil Raceway. PHOTO CREDIT: cgphotos.net
VanDoorn breaks bad luck streak at Winchester(Winchester, IN) Johnny VanDoorn has not had any luck in his CRA Super Series car in 2011. Dropping out due to either mechanical problems or a tire going down with less than 10 laps to go on a couple of occasions VanDoorn broke that streak with a win in the Winchester 100.
Chase Elliott takes CRA Super Series event in Michigan(Birch Run, MI) Chase Elliott made a last lap pass of longtime race leader, Becca Kasten, to claim the Dixie By Draper 125 presented by Mid-Michigan Toyota Dealers. Kasten's car sputtered and fell off the pace, denying her a chance at victory. Brian Campbell, Derick Griffin, Nick Gullatta, and Jay Niewiek rounded out the top five.
Dorer steals CRA prize at Anderson(Anderson, IN) Steve Dorer only led one lap, but it was the one that counted as he drove around the outside of Chase Elliott coming down the backstretch and made it stick as they came through the third and fourth turn beating Elliott to the line to win the CRA Super Series Seal Wrap Repair Tape Redbud 300 Monday night at Anderson Speedway. Ross Kenseth credited with CRA win at Plymouth(Plymouth, IN) Ross Kenseth was credit with Sunday's CRA Super Series win at Plymouth Speedway after apparent winner Eddie Hoffman was disqualified for failing post-race technical inspection.
Dorer survives CRA battle in Michigan(Jones, MI) Steve Dorer held off Nick Gullotta to win Sunday's CRA Super Series event at Michigan's M-40 Raceway. Terry Fisher Jr., who battled Dorer through much of the race, settled for third ahead of Tyler Roahrig and Derrick Griffin.
Busch wins CRA event at Berlin Raceway(Marne, MI) For 246 laps of the Rowdy 251 at Berlin Raceway on Wednesday night, Kyle Busch and Johnny VanDoorn traded the lead. Then, disaster struck for VanDoorn as his right front tire went down coming out of a late caution with Busch racing by on the outside, causing a VanDoorn spin that ended his night. CRA at Berlin postponed until Wednesday(Marne, MI) The CRA Super Series Rowdy 251 scheduled for Tuesday night at Berlin Raceway has been postponed until Wed. June 22 due to a heavy rainstorm rolling into the area. Pits will open at noon, practice at 2pm, qualifying at 4:30, autograph session at 6 and racing at 7pm.
Enfinger wins Rattler 250(Opp, AL) Battling through a wild Rattler 250, holding on when squeezed in the middle of a three wide move that did not work for two of the drivers, Grant Enfinger held on to win his second Rattler 250 title and get his first ever CRA Super Series win. Working to hold off a hard charging Chase Elliott and Bubba Pollard with only 13 laps to go, Enfinger was in the middle when Pollard went high and Elliott tried to fit down low.
