Mullens wins non-wing Weld Family Memorial Nationals(Grain Valley, MO) Non winged sprint car racing returned to Valley Speedway for the conclusion on the Inaugural Weld Family Memorial 305 Sprint Car Nationals Saturday evening. Tanner Mullens the Andale, KS driver put his name in the history book for Valley Speedway for winning the non-winged portion of the Weld Family Memorial.
Potter tops Winged portion of Weld Family Nationals(Grain Valley, MO) A beautiful fall evening set the stage as Valley Speedway played host the Inaugural Weld Family Memorial 305 Sprint Car Nationals. 21 drivers signed in to compete for the winged portion of this memorial event honoring the Weld family. Race fans treated to some of the best sprint car racing of the season at this suburban Kansas City speedway.

Gray extends point lead with third Valley win(Grain Valley, MO) The heat of August was back at Valley Speedway Friday night as well as a familiar face in victory lane. Lee’s Summit’s Brandon Gray managed to hold off the constant threat of Higginsville’s Brad Ryun. Gray started the 25 lap MSCA sprint car feature on the outside front row and overtook pole sitter Grain Valley’s Chad Shields at the start of the second lap.
Gray on a mission at Valley Speedway(Grain Valley, MO) Lee’s Summit’s Brandon Gray drove his MSCA sprint car as if here were on a mission. His mission was to concur all of his competition and further his lead the 2009 points championship. In his heat race, Gray advanced from his sixth place starting spot to challenge Harrisonville’s Kenny Potter for the win.
Potter celebrates Independence Holiday weekend win at Valley(Grain Valley, MO) The 4th of July Holiday weekend is officially underway. Harrisonville’s Ken Potter, the only MSCA driver to visit victory lane twice this season, returned for a third visit. Potter driving his green and yellow # 55 took full advantage of his outside front row start for the 25 lap distance.

MSCA opens up rule book(Overland Park, KS) In an effort to boost car counts, the officers off the Midwest Sprint Car Association (MSCA) announced that the 305 sprint cars of the United Rebel Sprint Series will be allowed to run in all MSCA events effective July 3, 2009.
Walker stars at Valley Speedway(Grain Valley, MO) Chris Walker, a third generation driver out of Oak driver win this season. Grove braved the summertime heat to notch a clean sweep in his first MSCA event and becomes the eighth dififferent winner this season. Walker, a student at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, is no stranger to victory lane in a winged 305 sprint car. Walker is a former track champion at the Butler Motor Speedway. Subbing for MSCA veteran driver Rob Hockett , Walker made the best of his chance behind the wheel of the white 19 owned by Steve Neale. Walker made a few appearances in the 19 last season.
Black works magic at Valley Speedway(Grain Valley, MO) Grain Valley MSCA sprint car driver, J.D. Black had a feeling that this was his night. Black having won the heat race and earned the most passing points of the 14 drivers signed in drew a chip to see how the starting field was to line up. Black dug into the red bag of chips and having a 60% chance of revealing a heads up start versus an inversion of 2 rows or 4 rows. A wide grin was on his face as he was the first to see the number indicating the heads up start.

Ryun earns first MSCA win at Valley Speedway(Grain Valley, MO) Valley Speedway’s Friday night open wheel series played host to the Midwest Sprint Car Association (MSCA) 305 sprint cars, The Racing Experience, Midwest Outlaw Lightning Sprints(MOLS), and the Midwest Mod Lites in action on the semi banked dirt oval. The tacky track surface provided the race fans with plenty of wheel to wheel racing.
