On Friday Night, May 16th the LOLMDS returns to the “Palace of Speed” Farley Speedway in Farley, IA and a Saturday Night date at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, IL.
Cowtown Hot Rod Reunion and Nostalgia Drags at KCIR(Kansas City, MO) The 5th Annual Cowtown Hot Rod Reunion and Nostalgia Drags will be held this weekend at Kansas City International Raceway. Blown Nitro and Alcohol Funny Car are featured along with JR Fuel and Fuel Cars, Custom Rods. A Giant Car Show is also part of the huge weekend. Gates open at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, 9:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Meyers returns to Lernerville victory circle(Sarver, PA) When Jason Meyers first took to the road full-time in 2000, the first track he won at was Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania. He has been trying to return to Victory Lane at the high-banked four-tenths mile ever since that date with the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, coming close on a number of occasions. He left no doubt on Tuesday night, as he led the final 18 laps of the Commonwealth Clash to earn his series leading fourth A-Feature win of 2008 and second career triumph at Lernerville. SCCA Runoffs leaving HPT after 2008(Topeka, KS) Sports Car Club of America, Inc. announced the results of a vote by its Board of Directors that will move the National Championship Runoffs® to Road America (Elkhart Lake, Wis.) in 2009. Babb wears Diamond(Wheatland, MO) Shannon Babb led the entire 100 laps to win the SuperClean Diamond Nationals Sunday night at Lucas Oil Speedway. The event had been postponed by rain from Saturday. After 68 of the 80 drivers returned from Friday night's qualifying, track conditions were dry and slick for the heat races, however officials decided to re-work the surface for the 100-lap A-Main. It made for much better racing, however Babb was never seriously threatened.
