(Boone, IA) Jay Noteboom didn’t need much time to reflect before comparing his Friday night Fast Shafts All-Star victory with his win in the 2005 Invitational. Noteboom shot into the lead from the fifth starting spot in just three laps, then led to the checkers in the Modified special during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals.

(Richmond, VA) The Race to the Chase has reached the end of its road. Next stop: The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Richmond International Raceway turns up the volume Saturday night for the Chevy Rock & Roll 400, an event that has become an annual highlight of the season, as the “cut-off” race leading into the Chase, the five-year-old playoff-style format to determine the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion.

Boney pockets CMS money
(Warrensburg, MO) Dustin Boney ran away with the final Modified Special of the year Saturday night at Central Missouri Speedway. Boney used the outside groove to force Dave Meyer behind a lap car, and powered into the lead on lap 14 of the 40-lap race. He was never headed the rest of the way, earning $3000 for his efforts.

RV rally added to casino plan
(Kansas City, KS) Kansas Speedway announced on Wednesday that its NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race sponsor, Camping World, has committed to bring a national RV rally to the speedway beginning in 2010 if Kansas Speedway and The Cordish Company are awarded the casino management contract for Wyandotte County (Kan.).

Clanton closes the deal

Neat battled with Jason Feger before the way was cleared when Feger fell out with three laps remaining from a flat tire. Will Vaught earned runnerup honors ahead of Brian Shirley, Billy Moyer, and Dennis Erb Jr. Round 2 is Friday night at Brownstown, Indiana.

Racing for Michael Ross Foundation
(Sedalia, MO) The annual event at Sedalia’s State Fair Speedway is always a highlight of the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series season. The track provides blazing fast speeds and great racing, but more importantly the event serves as a benefit for the Michael Ross Memorial Foundation, with all proceeds from the race going to the charity. The event on Wednesday, June 11 will mark the 11th annual edition of the race, which will also feature a celebrity modified race.
