The 8th season of racing for the O'Reilly Auto Parts TORA Racing Series has been scheduled and readied as the series looks to rebound from years past and become a series to look forward to in 2008.
The season will start April 11 at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas followed up by an early appearance at the fast and high-banked Thunderhill Speedway in Mayetta, Kansas.
After the opening weekend of action the drivers will take a break before a Memorial Day Weekend swing that includes a return appearance to the I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska on May 25 for the Annual Alphabet Soup race, followed by a return to a track that provided 2 very close finishes in last year's action, Topeka, Kansas' Heartland Park Topeka Dirt Track on May 26.
For the first time ever the series then heads to the state of the art Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri on June 20-21 for the Inaugural O'Reilly Shootout, featuring many O'Reilly Auto Parts sponsored series around the country.
On the next weekend another 2 day romp will take place as the series heads to the Hutchinson Raceway Park in Hutchinson, Kansas on June 27 followed up with a visit to the Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska on June 28. That race will mark the halfway point of the season.
After a break during the month of July the O'Reilly TORA series then makes another trip back to the Junction Motor Speedway on August 1-2 for the King of the Hill Late Model Shootout.
A 3 day Labor Day weekend also highlights the schedule. The swing starts off at the 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas on August 30 followed by a visit to the Belleville High Banks in Belleville, Kansas on August 31 for the first time since 2005. The Labor Day weekend comes to a close with another visit to Heartland Park Topeka's Dirt Track.
The series then returns to the I-80 Speedway on September 20 for the Annual Cornhusker Classic.
The 2008 season will then come to a close with Thunder on the Hill II, featuring 2 complete shows during the big weekend event at the Thunderhill Speedway on October 3-4.
