24 Raceway Sportsman Special reset for this Saturday

Saturday, May 17th, is the new date for the MFA / Break Time Sportsman Special, rescheduled from last weekend's rain-out at 24 Raceway. And at this week's 25-lap event in Moberly, the Sportsman class has a revised purse with a bit bigger prize money. First place will be paying $400 with 2nd getting $300, and 3rd taking home $250. Although the Sportsman Special will be the featured event, the rest of the regular classes of A-modifieds, the Moberly Motors B-modifieds, Hobby Stocks and the 4 cylinder Hornets classes will also be in competition.

Along with this week's MFA / Break Time Sportsman Special, the Hobby Stocks will have a mechanic's race following the night's racing program. Only this year, an added activity will take place during the race: on one of the laps, the mechanic will pit on the front stretch and a tire change will be mandatory. The regular drivers will now be taking their turn at being the tire changers on these Hobbys. More details to be discussed with the entrants following the driver's meeting at 6pm this Saturday night.

"Dirt Track Racing at its Best" begins this Saturday at 7pm with a driver's meeting at 6pm, followed by hot laps. The fast action will take place again on these high banks, east of Moberly, Missouri on U.S. Highway 24. Adult ticket prices for the MFA / Break Time Sportsman Special plus the Hobby Stock mechanics' race are only $10, with children, ages 6 to 12, getting in for $5. Kids under 6 years old are admitted free of charge. Pit passes are $25 apiece. Come watch the fastest fendered racecars compete in the MFA / Break Time Sportsman Special, the Hobby Stock mechanics' race and "Dirt Track Racing at its Best" this Saturday, the 17th of May at the high banks of 24 Raceway, Moberly. Grandstands and pit gate open at 4pm.
