The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series continues its run through the Midwest this upcoming weekend as two tracks, very familiar to the series drivers host $10,000 to win races. On Friday Night, May 16th the LOLMDS returns to the “Palace of Speed” Farley Speedway in Farley, IA and a Saturday Night date at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, IL.

After the conclusion of the SuperClean “Diamond Nationals” this past weekend at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO 3-time Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Champion, Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL and Richmond, IN driver and reigning $100,000 Eldora Dream Winner Steve Casebolt are deadlocked atop the series championship points standings. The tough competition the series has seen in 2008 is validated in that there have been nine different winners in the first 13 events contested this season and the series is on a record-setting pace as there have been 321 drivers already compete at least once with the nation’s top touring series for dirt late models.

At Farley, this Friday, the track will host the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the fourth time in four years with its Banner Valley Hauling sponsored $10,000 to win show. In the previous three visits to Farley there have been three different drivers record series wins including Scott James of Lawrenceburg, IN (’05), Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR (’06) and Earl Pearson Jr. who came from the 15th starting spot to win last year’s classic race that saw second place finisher Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, IA wind up second after starting 17th and third place finisher at the pay window last year Steve Casebolt used a series provisional to start 23rd and he wound up third in the final results.

That kind of racing is why the “Palace of Speed” is ready to witness the best talent that the series has to offer along with a host of outstanding Midwest travelers who will be in the house on Friday Night to try and rival last year’s spectacular feature event. Farley Speedway is located at U.S. 20 to exit 300, then south to Frontage Road; and then west ½ mile on Olde Farley Road. For more information you can check out www.simmonspromotionsinc.com or call (563) 744-3620.

On Saturday Night LaSalle promoter Kerrianne Izzo will host the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the seventh time since 2005. The previous six times the series visited the popular North-Central Illinois facility there have been no repeat winners as six different drivers have entered the Lucas Oil victory circle there. The “Spring Shootout” this weekend will pay $10,000 to win and is shaping up to be another all-star event. Jimmy Mars of Menomonie, WI, Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, IA, Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, IL, Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN, Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, KY and Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN are the six racers who have scored LOLMDS wins at LaSalle in the past.

LaSalle Speedway is located on U.S. 6 in LaSalle, Illinois. For more information on the May 17th running of the “Spring Shootout” you can go to www.lasallespeedway.com or call (815) 223-6900. Pit gates will open at LaSalle at 2:00 PM with grandstand gates opening at 5:00 PM. PRC Time Trials are slated to start at 6:30 PM with racing action hitting the track at 7:30 PM.

The tire rule for the events will be the same; Hoosier 1300, 1350, LM20, 1600 and LM40 and American Racer SD44, SD48 and MD56.

The feature payoff will also be the same for both tracks: $10,000, $5000, $3000, $2500, $2000, $1500, $1400, $1300, $1200, $1100, $1000, $950, $900, $875, $850, $825, $800 $775, $750, $725, $700, $700, $700, $700
