Twenty Questions with Casey Caudill ASA Late Model Series South 2009

www.asalatemodels.com

1) Will you compete for an ASA Late Model Series Championship in 2009?

Yes, the South Series.

2) Tell us about your previous racing experience.

I started racing Quarter Midgets when I was 7 and from there moved up to the trucks at age 12 for two years and ran the ASA Late Model Series all last year.

3) To date, what is your most treasured racing experience?

Setting the track record at the Eastern Grands for Quarter Midgets that still stands today.

4) To date, what is your least memorable racing experience?

Speedweeks 2008. I backed the car in the wall during qualifying and from there we didn’t have a good week.

5) Tell us about your previous racing accomplishments?

I’ve won more than 80 races in Quarter Midgets, sat on the pole at Indy and still hold a track record. I was 2006 Fastkids Rising Star Winner in my rookie season and finished 5th in points.

6) At what age and how did you get started in racing?

My dad got me started in Quarter Midgets when I was 7 years old.

7) What goals have you set for yourself in racing?

My goals for this year are to win the ASA South Championship and win some races. And my long term goal is to stay in racing as long as I can and be successful and have fun.

8) Tell us about your family and how they have supported your racing efforts.

I’m the only boy. But I have 3 loving sisters that love to come watch me race and cheer for me.

9) Tell us about your race crew and your sponsors.

My Crew Chief is Kenny Hellyer and my Dad. American Services, Inc is my sponsor but we are looking for others’ to come on board for the ride.

10) What are your other hobbies and interests?

Basketball and skateboarding.

11) If you had to choose an animal to describe your personality, which one would it be?

A lion because I pounce on my competition.

12) What is your favorite food and beverage?

Pizza and Coke.

13) What kind of automobile would you/or do you own?

Dodge Ram

14) Who is your favorite NASCAR driver and why?

Dale Jr. because I’ve liked him ever since I was little and he is a tell it like it is person

15) Who is your favorite Short Track racer?

Joe Winchell because he’s always given me advice if I needed it and will never take someone out of the race on purpose. He also has been winning races for many years against the best Florida has to offer

16) What is your favorite movie?

Days of Thunder

17) What is your favorite type of music and what CD is in your CD player now?

I listen to the radio so almost anything that’s on.

18) What are your thoughts on other types of racing such as Dirt Racing, etc… I don’t care for any other racing that much because I was born and raised around asphalt short tracks but you never know what the future may hold and I’m open to the possibility of other types of racing

19) Of all the tracks you have now raced on, which one is your favorite and why?

Punta Gorda because I’ve been there so many times I know it like the back of my hand and I always have good luck there.

20) Tell us about your plans for 2009.

I plan on running the full ASA South Series, about 8 races at Punta Gorda, and two ASA Challenge races.
