Too many rainouts force Wilson's to shut down Bethany weekly program - ©

Jim and Nancy Wilson have announced that they are canceling the weekly race program at Bethany Speedway that were being held at the Northwest Missouri State Fairgrounds in Bethany Missouri.
Wilson stated, "It has been a terrible year as far as the weather is concerned and we have been forced to cancel 6 races out of 8 scheduled races so far. With having to close down for the cancer walk in two weeks and then again for the fair in the middle of August that only gives us a possibility of 10 more races at best. With that in mind it would be impossible for us to build a fan base and have any kind of program this year". Wilson added, "It is impossible to have a business when Mother Nature won't let you open the door".

Wilson went on to compliment the Bethany Fair Board for their help and cooperation citing them as one of the best Fair Boards that he has ever worked with. He also thanked the racing teams that tried to race at Bethany this year and the fans who offered so much encouragement.

All racing teams who purchased pit passes for the race cancelled on Friday June 4, should send their wrist bands along with the paid persons name to the WORLD Dirt Racing League for a refund. That address is: WORLD Dirt Racing League, 302 Gilbert Avenue, Giman City, MO 64642
